Olympics - Not all we were sold

I feel like I should be more excited and positive about the Olympics, however I'm not.

Fish Hoek - an eye opening holiday

After 4 years I finally managed to get back to South Africa for Christmas. It was also the first time that Laura and Mike were visiting South Africa and we decided to stay in Fish Hoek. Although I lived in other places for longer - such as East London and Johannesburg, and even Crawley - Fish Hoek is the place that I most identify as 'home'.

NaNoWriMo 2011 coming

The National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is almost upon us, and I hope to take part this year.  It is something I think about occasionally in the run-up to November, but then find I'm too busy to take part - 2011 is the year to beat that excuse!

£166Million.... just imagine....

As the Euro Million reaches the high water mark of £166 Million you can't help but imagine "what if"...  So, with that in mind, how would I spend it if I won it?

Family [£65.5 Million]

I have three siblings, a wife, a step-son and parents, all of whom would be very happy to share in my winnings and sharing would make me very happy.  With such a large win the money would be life changing and allow them to each make some huge changes.

Startups - Infographic

I found this from a Tweet that Lalawag put out and thought I'd share it.

It is interesting as I like to think of myself as an entrepreneur, and agree with much of what is shown here.

The changing internet and fancy graphs

I decided to finally pick up a copy of Wired, because lots of clever people I know and read about seem to think it's a good magazine.  And now I agree.

One of the articles that caught my attention was 'The Web is dead. Long live the internet", the 2nd splash page of which features a colourful graph showing the proportion of total US internet traffic against various categories, from 1990 through to 2010.  These numbers come from Cisco.

Lego mini figures series 2

Lego has released the next series of its mini figures - series 2.  As with series 1, you can see the PDF attached for info on the barcodes.

As with the first series, we think these are great and look forward to collecting them all!
